OCN is taking K-drama fans on a mystery ride towards parallel universes in the first teaser for its upcoming suspense series Train.
Starring Yoon Shi-yoon (Psychopath Diary), Kyung Soo-jin (Joseon Survival), and Shin So-yul (Big Issue), Train tells the story of Seo Do-won, played by Yoon, a detective who lost his lover at the hands of a serial killer. While setting out to investigate the murder, he ends up in a parallel world and crosses paths with her again. This time, Do-won vows to protect her at all costs.
The 15-second black-and-white teaser emanates an uncanny atmosphere as it opens with the noise of a moving train resonating across a dull and still railroad. The next scene shows the wheels spinning at an unstoppable speed, but the track then abruptly shifts and causes the train to make a sudden turn.
While taking the path towards a dark tunnel, the train vehemently blows its horn to alert a man who is walking in the middle of the railway. He faces around to look, but the scene freezes and splits into two identical pictures, one in grayscale while the other, colored by the night light. The video closes with Yoon Shi-yoon’s voice in the background saying, “Train, a parallel-world mystery.”
Completing the main cast lineup are actresses Kyung Soo-jin and Shin So-yul, who will be playing the characters Han Seo-kyung and Lee Jung-min, respectively. Seo-kyung is a righteous and expressive prosecutor who is an aloof and emotionless homicide detective in the parallel world. Meanwhile, Jung-min is a competent forensic investigator who helps Do-won with his investigations. She is Do-won’s childhood friend and first love.
Train is helmed by director Ryu Seung-jin of the tvN Drama Stage: Everyone Is There (2020). The series is currently gearing up for its premiere in July.
