Yoon Kye-sang and Seo Hyun-jin might star in a drama together!
On November 13th, Yoon Kye-sang’s agency Saram Entertainment confirmed reports that the veteran film actor was reviewing a casting offer from the drama You Are My Spring (literal title). Seo Hyun-jin has also been offered the lead role in this drama.
You Are My Spring will revolve around three protagonists—all of them adults who go about their lives caught in the pain of their childhoods. They are held back by one word—”salvation.” The drama will be a healing story about adults who are still children inside. It will be directed by Jung Ji-hyun, who has served as the producing director (PD) of hit dramas like Mr. Sunshine (2018), Search: WWW (2019), and The King: Eternal Monarch (2020). Lee Mi-na, writer of the drama Bubble Gum (2015), will pen the script. The broadcasting network for the show is undecided as yet.
Yoon Kye-sang has been offered the role of a psychiatrist by the name of Joo Young-do, who became a psychiatrist in order to observe people, fix the pains that they hide, and give them a second chance at life. However, he suffers from the guilt of being unable to save his own brother and one of his patients. If Yoon accepts the offer, this will be his comeback to the small screen after two years. He is best known for his roles in Who Are You? (2008), The Greatest Love (2011), and The Good Wife (2016) and was last seen opposite Ha Ji-won in another melodrama called Chocolate (2019), where he incidentally also played a doctor.
Seo Hyun-jin, on the other hand, has been offered the role of Kang Da-jung, a concierge at a hotel. Da-jung has been smart enough to put herself through college on scholarships and land a good job, rising much higher in her profession than her peers. Her love life, however, is a mess—she seems to have inherited her mother’s bad taste in men and keeps dating terrible people. The actress was last seen playing a school teacher in the drama Black Dog (2019–2020).
You Are My Spring is tentatively scheduled to air in the first half of 2021.
