Yoo Yeon-seok to star alongside Olga Kurylenko in upcoming film ‘Matin Calme’

Yoo Yeon-seok will appear in the Korean-French movie Matin Calme (Calm Morning), his agency King Kong by Starship confirmed on the 5th.

Matin Calme will revolve around the case of a woman found dead in South Korea. The film will be helmed by Denis Dercourt, the director-writer behind the 2006 French thriller film The Page Turner.

Yoo has been roped in to play Park Jin-ho, a Korean detective known for his fluency in English, good looks, and straightforward attitude. To unravel the mystery behind the woman’s death, Jin-ho will work with Alice Lone (Olga Kurylenko), a French forensics professor.

Yoo Yeon-seok made his debut in the industry with a minor role in the 2003 film Oldboy. He then went on a break and resumed taking on projects in 2008. He has since been keeping his small- and silver-screen acting slates full. Some of his works include the films Architecture 101 (2012), A Werewolf Boy (2012), and The Beauty Inside (2015), and the dramas Warm and Cozy (2015), Dr. Romantic (2016–2017), and Hospital Playlist (2020). The actor has also confirmed his casting in Puppy, a healing family movie slated for release in 2021.

His co-star Olga Kurylenko is also no stranger to films, with over 20 titles in her profile. The Ukranian-French actress is best known for her roles in Quantum of Solace (2008), Johnny English Strikes Again (2018), and The Room (2019), to name a few.

Matin Calme reportedly cranked up its production in September.
