Yoo In-na, Yoon Se-ah courted to star in new drama ‘Snowdrop’

Popular actresses Yoo In-na and Yoon Se-ah have received offers to appear in the upcoming drama Snowdrop.

On September 17, Yoo’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed that the actress received a proposal but has yet to make her decision. Similarly, Ace Factory shared on the 18th that their talent Yoon is positively reviewing her offer.

Snowdrop is set in 1987 and is based on a memoir of a man who escaped a political prison camp in North Korea. After a tear gas explosion, he seeks refuge in a dormitory at the Leehwa Women’s University, where a student finds him and tends to his wounds. The tragic tale of the two begins when the man, who is actually an armed spy, becomes torn between doing his mission that his motherland has entrusted him or being with the woman he loves who saved his life. The production has yet to reveal the roles offered to the actresses and the confirmed cast.

Yoo In-na is best known for her notable performances in popular series such as Secret Garden (2010), Queen In-hyun’s Man (2012), My Love from the Star (2013–2014), and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016–2017), to name a few. This year, she is expected to make another memorable portrayal in the upcoming romantic-comedy MBC drama The Spies Who Loved Me.

Like Yoo, Yoon Se-ah is also no stranger to small-screen projects, having previously joined the cast of My Sassy Girl (2017), SKY Castle (2018–2019), and Melting Me Softly (2019), among others. At present, the actress is reprising her role in the second season of the award-winning 2017 tvN drama Stranger.

Snowdrop’s production has been making buzz in K-dramaland for tapping notable actors and drama makers. To date, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Extraordinary You’s Kim Hye-yoon, and The Good Detective’s Jang Seung-jo are the actors who have verified their participation. Like Yoo In-na and Yoon Se-ah, A Piece of Your Mind actor Jung Hae-in has also yet to confirm his appearance. Meanwhile, SKY Castle’s director-screenwriter duo Jo Hyun-tak and Yoo Hyun-mi have been roped in to spearhead the making.
