‘While You Were Sleeping’ script read stills released

With about four weeks remaining prior to the much-anticipated premiere of its upcoming drama, SBS released on September 1 the still images taken during the script read session of While You Were Sleeping that took place on January 20, 2017. The new drama is headlined by Korean superstar Lee Jong-suk (W-Two Worlds) and popular singer-turned-actress Bae Suzy (Uncontrollably Fond).

Aside from the two main stars, the other actors who attended the said event include Jung Hae-in, Lee Sang-yeob, Ko Sung-hee, Shin Jae-ha, Park Jin-joo, Lee Ki-young, and Min Sung-wook. The meeting of the cast is said to be lively and cheerful with all of the actors showing a nice teamwork. PD Oh Choong-hwan was also in attendance and said that he would do his best to make the series shine and meet viewers’ expectations. PD Oh directed the 2016 medical drama Doctors and the hit 2013 series My Love From the Stars.

The drama is written by Park Hye-ryun, who previously worked with Lee Jong-suk in hit series I Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio. Writer Park also worked with Bae Suzy in the past through Dream High, so While You Were Sleeping is her second project together with the actress. The drama is expected to step up its promotional activities in the whole month of September. Many fans have been waiting for the series to premiere, especially that two popular actors are working with a director-writer pair who have made successful dramas in the past.

While You Were Sleeping is a supernatural romance drama about a woman, played by Bae Suzy, who has the ability to foresee the awful events that are about to happen to people through her dreams. Lee Jong-suk, meanwhile, plays a prosecutor who teams up with her to stop those premonitions from becoming a reality.

The production team of the series ended about five months of filming on July 27, 2017. The drama will premiere on September 27, taking over the Wednesday-Thursday slot presently occupied by Reunited Worlds.

Me? Just an ordinary lad with an extraordinary (says this something called 'stereotype') habit of watching Korean dramas. It started with action-filled City Hunter and the rest, as they say, is history.
