‘When I Was Most Beautiful’ unveils love triangle in new poster, teases impending heartbreak

MBC’s newest romantic drama When I Was Most Beautiful dropped its first poster, featuring lead stars Im Soo-hyang, Ha Seok-jin, and Ji Soo.

When I Was Most Beautiful tells the story of two brothers, Seo Hwan (Ji Soo, My First First Love 2) and Seo Jin (Ha Seok-jin, Your House Helper), who fall in love with the same woman, Oh Ye-jin (Im Soo-hyang, Graceful Family). Ye-jin is a ceramic artist whose life wish is to simply find happiness. Instead, life throws her a curveball as she finds two men vying for her affection. Seo Hwan, an architectural designer, and Seo Jin, a race car driver, both fall for Ye-jin at first sight. But when Seo Jin openly declares his plan to pursue the Ye-jin, Seo Hwan finds himself torn between the woman he loves and the older brother he admires.

The newly dropped poster shows the main characters inside a ceramic studio. Seo Jin and Oh Ye-jin, who seem to be on a date, are all smiles as they make pottery together. Seo Jin has his arms around Ye-jin, while the latter gazes at him lovingly. Their side of the room is bright and well-lit, complementing the light mood of the couple. Meanwhile, Seo Hwan, in his uniform, is sitting on the stairs beside the two. He is staring at something from afar, with a look of defeat and longing in his eyes. Unlike the area where Seo Jin and Ye-jin are, the part of the room where he’s in is dimly lit, as if in reflection of his character’s tense feelings and possibly imminent heartache.

When I Was Most Beautiful Poster

The production team shared, “In the When I Was Most Beautiful poster, [the viewers can see] the relationship between Im Soo-hyang, Ji Soo, and Ha Seok-jin, and the colors of their characters. [We] hope you feel the essence of this well-made melodrama that will be shown in the small screen after a long time.”

When I Was Most Beautiful (also known as When I Was the Prettiest) is directed by Oh Kyung-hoon and written by Jo Hyun-kyung. It will air at 9:30 p.m. KST every Wednesday and Thursday starting August 19.
