Kang Seung-yoon, who is currently gracing the small screen in tvN’s thriller drama Voice 4, is set to appear in SBS’s Racket Boys.
On July 12, the production team behind the sports-themed series released the stills of Kang Seung-yoon all suited up as Kang Tae-seon. Tae-seon is dubbed as the “unlucky genius” who is full of passion and kindness who disappeared 10 years ago and has now returned. He once was the youngest member of the national badminton team.
Along with Park Hae-soo and Kim Sung-cheol, Kang Seung-yoon’s special appearance is also due to his relationship with the show’s writer Jung Bo-hoon. whom he worked with in Prison Playbook (2017–2018).
Racket Boys follows the badminton players from a middle school in a rural village who want to join a junior athletic competition. In their journey, they eventually grow not just as idol athletes but also as people. It stars Tang Jun-sang (Move to Heaven), Son Sang-yeon (Failing in Love, Dr. Romantic 2), Choi Hyun-wook (Taxi Driver), Kim Kang-hoon (Mouse), Lee Jae-in (Undercover), Lee Ji-won (The Uncanny Counter), Kim Sang-kyung (Miss Lee), and Oh Na-ra (Chip In).
Racket Boys, which aired its first 12 episodes as a Monday-Tuesday show, recently made changes to its broadcast schedule. The production team shared that the adjustment was made due to the country’s COVID-19 restrictions and to avoid any issues with the Olympics program.
According to reports, episode 13 will air today, July 12, at 10 p.m. KST. Episode 14 will be broadcast on July 19, and the finale is expected to air on July 27.
