The Cassano Geumga family and their beloved mafia consigliere have bid a strong goodbye as Vincenzo closed with 14.636 percent for its May 2 episode. According to Nielsen Korea, this rating translates to approximately 3.8 million viewers tuned in to the drama’s final episode.
The 14.636 percent nationwide mark is not only a personal best for Vincenzo, but it also set a record as the sixth highest rating achieved in tvN history. The finale score of the mafia-themed series has been bested by the closing episode ratings of Crash Landing on You (2019–2020, 21.683 percent), Reply 1988 (2015–2016, 18.803 percent), Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016–2017, 18.680 percent), Mr. Sunshine (2018, 18.129 percent), and Mr. Queen (2020–2021, 17.371 percent).
Vincenzo refers to Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-ki, Arthdal Chronicles), a Korea-born Italian consigliere. He returns to Korea for a personal agenda but ends up getting entangled in the affairs of a plaza’s residents and a sharp-tongued lawyer (Jeon Yeo-been, Be Melodramatic) who works for the country’s top law firm. Together, they turn into dark heroes who seek justice in the most unconventional ways.
Meanwhile, MBN’s new series Bossam: Steal the Fate achieved 2.960 percent for its second episode, while KBS2’s weekend family drama Revolutionary Sisters scored 24.7 percent and 28.1 percent for its latest two-part episode. Both of the aforementioned episodes also aired on May 2.
