Upcoming tvN drama ‘Navillera’ unveils Park In-hwan, Song Kang’s heartwarming chemistry in new teasers

Gearing up for its forthcoming premiere, tvN’s new webtoon-based drama Navillera has dropped a sneak peek at the inspiring chemistry between lead actors Park In-hwan and Song Kang.

Navillera follows the story of Shim Deok-chul (Park In-hwan, Brilliant Heritage), a 70-year-old retired mailman who has just decided to pursue his lifelong dream, and Lee Chae-rok (Song Kang, Sweet Home), a 23-year-old ballet dancer who gets lost while chasing his ambitions. As they form an unlikely friendship through ballet, the two will grow and reach for their dreams together, bearing in mind that life only comes around once. It is a screen adaptation of the popular webtoon by manhwa (Korean term for comics) author Hun and illustrator Ji-min.

The drama has released two teasers, one from Shim Deok-chul’s perspective and the other from Lee Chae-rok’s. In both versions of the clip, a visually elegant Chae-rok draws attention as he dances and spins gracefully under the blue horizon while Deok-chul watches him in complete awe. A faint image of a butterfly appears on Chae-rok’s back and flaps its wings as each of them narrates in their respective teasers, “Everyone has a moment when they fly up at least once.”

The pair then join one of their hands and raise the other towards the sky, before giving one another the warmest of smiles. Anticipation is already heating up as early as now for Park and Song’s refreshing bromance, which is described as something that will remarkably transcend generations.

Navillera, previously called Like a Butterfly, is helmed by director Han Dong-hwa of Miss Lee (2019) and penned by screenwriter Lee Eun-mi of Tunnel (2017). The Monday-Tuesday drama is slated to air beginning March 22 at 9 p.m. KST, replacing L.U.C.A.: The Beginning.
