The highly anticipated second season of tvN’s thriller drama Stranger has dropped a new teaser!
In Stranger 2, viewers are set to witness Cho Seung-woo (Life) and Bae Doo-na (Kingdom 2) team up once again as the prosecutor-detective duo, Hwang Shi-mok and Han Yeo-jin, who will chase after the truth of a hidden case. The upcoming season will also revolve around the struggles between the police and the prosecutors as they fight for independent powers during investigations. The network announced that the series was renewed for another season in September 2019.
The mystery-laced teaser spans for 15 seconds and opens as a light flickers during a foggy night. The next scene carries the fog into the city as a caption that says, “Those who want silence,” flashes. The subsequent cuts then show something on fire, followed by a clip of a man in a suit and red tie signing his name under “prosecutor.” The fog once again covers a dimly lit room as the statement “Everyone is an accomplice” appears. The scene changes to the view of a running car’s side-view mirror, then shifts to a person holding a calling card of someone from the Prosecutor’s Office. The final seconds of the video cuts into a crime scene followed by a clip showing a man, who seems to be Hwang Shi-mok in his apartment, standing by a window overlooking the city. The teaser closes as an unidentified man with a briefcase in hand, walks along the dark hallway and the text “8월” flashes, indicating the series’ target premiere month.
Stranger (also credited as Secret Forest), which introduced the tandem and eventual friendship of the unempathetic prosecutor and warm-hearted detective, centered on their work to solve a murder case and eliminate the corruption within the Prosecutor’s Office. With the impact of the drama’s first season and the freshly released promos of the second, there is growing curiosity on what could be in store in the upcoming series.
Stranger 2 will be helmed by PD Park Hyun-suk and Lee Soo-yeon, who also penned the award-winning first season. It is scheduled to take over the broadcast slot of the currently airing Kim Soo-hyun and Seo Ye-ji fantasy romantic series, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, in August.
