Song Seung-heon considers taking lead role in tvN’s ‘The Great Show’

On February 19, actor Song Seung-heon’s agency Better Ent revealed that he had received an offer to star in tvN’s The Great Show, which he is evaluating positively.

The Great Show will revolve around the family and friends of a former member of the National Assembly. Because of the drama’s nature as a political satire, the family and friends will be depicted as selfish, materialistic, and crooked. It will also contain elements of a family drama, as well as some romance in order to produce a unique mix of different styles and arouse the viewers’ interest.

If Song Seung-heon decides to do the drama, he will be seen playing a snobbish politician named Wi Dae-han. At 32 years of age, he contests the National Assembly elections as a representative of the youth but fails to win. Quick-witted, eloquent, and good-looking, he possesses all the qualities to become a star politician. His siblings, who are much less smart, team up with his neighbors to create trouble for him.

The actor was seen in OCN’s crime drama The Player last year, in which he co-starred with Krystal Jung and Lee Si-eon. He is also known for his work in East Of Eden (2008) and My Princess (2011).

The Great Show will be written by Seol Joon-seok, whose last project was KBS2’s Ad Genius Lee Tae-baek in 2013. He is also known for writing Bad Housewife (2005). Joining him will be director Shin Young-hwi who directed MBC’s Hide And Seek (2018). The series is expected to air in the second half of the year.
