Lead actor Song Kang unveils his entertainer side through the fresh stills from his upcoming inspirational drama Navillera.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name by manhwa (Korean term for comics) author Hun and illustrator Ji-min, Navillera follows two men, who, despite having a huge generation gap, form one life-changing friendship through ballet. Shim Deok-chul (Park In-hwan, Brilliant Heritage) is a 70-year-old retired mailman chasing after his long-standing dream, while Lee Chae-rok (Song Kang, Sweet Home) is a 23-year-old ballet dancer who once got derailed from realizing his ambitions.
The newly dropped stills feature Song Kang’s eye-catching transformation into Lee Chae-rok. The young ballet dancer boasts perfect visuals and a remarkable physique as he executes ballet’s fourth position during what seems like a dance practice in one picture and a rehearsal or a recital in the other. Along the path towards his dream, Chae-rok endures a difficult reality and juggles multiple part-time jobs just to get by. Given his serious and determined facial expressions, however, his hard life could also have shaped him up into the resilient, talented, and promising young dancer that he is now.

The production team behind Navillera shared, “Song Kang perfectly digested Chae-rok’s character in the webtoon and brought him to life. We are confident that it will become a defining role for him as an actor. Please look forward to seeing Navillera, which will introduce the ballerino Song Kang.”
Navillera is helmed by director Han Dong-hwa of Miss Lee (2019) and penned by screenwriter Lee Eun-mi of Tunnel (2017). The Monday-Tuesday drama is slated to air on tvN beginning March 22 at 9 p.m. KST, replacing L.U.C.A.: The Beginning.
