Song Joong-ki and Lee Sung-min have been confirmed as the lead stars of the upcoming JTBC series The Chaebol’s Youngest Son.
The Chaebol’s Youngest Son is described as a fantasy drama about a secretary who works for a chaebol family and has loyally served them for years. When he gets betrayed and killed, he makes a mysterious return to the family and seeks revenge. The series is based on a web novel of the same name authored by San Kyung.
Song Joong-ki, who recently impressed viewers as the titular mafia lawyer in Vincenzo (2021), is all set to suit up as Yoon Hyun-woo. Hyun-woo is a secretary who works as a risk owner for the Sunyang Group. One day, he gets framed for embezzlement by the family he is working for and dies. He is reborn as Jin Do-joon, the youngest son of the chaebol family. He takes advantage of what he knows about Soonyang to exact revenge and take over their wealth.
Essaying the role of Jin Yang-cheol, Sunyang Group’s head, is Money Game (2020) actor Lee Sung-min. Yang-cheol has an insatiable desire for power and winning. He is cold-hearted, greedy, and extremely cruel.
The Chaebol’s Youngest Son (also The Youngest Son of the Conglomerate) will be helmed by Jung Dae-yoon of W – Two Worlds (2016) and I’m Not a Robot (2017–2018) and penned by Kim Tae-hee of Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019). It is slated for a 2022 release.
