Song Joo-hee confirmed to appear in ‘Revenge’

Idol turned actress Song Joo-hee will be joining the cast of TV Chosun’s Saturday and Sunday drama Revenge.

On August 10, the actress’ agency Kingsland Company said, “Song Joo-hee will play a secretary in the series Revenge, which is scheduled to broadcast in October.”

Revenge is an exciting mystery thriller drama that will revolve around an average reporter Kang Hae-ra, who gains status and influence after marrying a celebrity. After being involved in a fake scandal, she seeks the help of Cha Min-joon, a skilled but cold-blooded lawyer, to aid her with her revenge. Recently, Kim Sa-rang (This Is My Love), Yoon Hyun-min (Men Are Men), Yoo Sun (Mother of Mine), Jung Man-sik (Chief of Staff 2), and Yoon So-yi (A Place in the Sun) have all confirmed their appearances as cast members.

Song will play the secretary of the only successor to the FB group Kim Tae-on (Yoo Sun), helping her with everything she needs. Song is looking forward to expanding her acting spectrum with her character in this drama and has expressed her excitement over this new project, saying, “It’s been a long time [since my last series], and it’s my first time appearing in this kind of drama, so I’m nervous, but I’m also excited. I will work hard on the filming so that I can give a good performance, so please support me.”

The actress first debuted in 2010 as a soloist with the stage name Ora, and then later on joined the girl group Hello Venus back in 2012 under the name Alice. The group has released a number of albums before they disbanded in 2019. Prior to the group’s disbandment, Song Joo-hee already ventured in TV projects and showed stable acting skills in her roles in dramas such as After School: Lucky or Not (Seasons 1 and 2/2013, 2014), Cunning Single Lady (2014), Diary of a Night Watchman (2014), and The Virtual Bride (2015). Revenge will mark her return to the small screen after five years.

Revenge will be directed by Kang Min-gu and penned by Kim Hyo-jin.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
