Song Ji-hyo starrer ‘Was It Love?’ to stream worldwide on Netflix

Netflix has announced that the upcoming JTBC romantic-comedy series Was It Love?, starring Song Ji-hyo (Lovely Horribly), Son Ho-jun (The Light in Your Eyes), Song Jong-ho (Arthdal Chronicles), Koo Ja-sung (The Secret Life of My Secretary), and Kim Min-joon (Babysitter), will also be available for streaming on its platform just within hours after its local broadcast on JTBC.

Was It Love? tells the story of movie producer Noh Ae-jung (Song Ji-hyo) who has been a single mother for the past 14 years. Despite having already given up on romance due to a bad history of intimate relationships, she ironically finds herself embarking on an unexpected chapter of her love life when four men decide to pursue her, all at the same time.

In a press release, the streaming giant shared a minute-long trailer for the series, which introduces its main cast of characters. The video opens with Ae-jung’s daughter Noh Ha-nee (Um Chae-young, Children of a Lesser God) declaring in the background, “I’m going to look for a dad, starting today.” She continues, “My mom, Noh Ae-jung…she is a successful career woman.” Clips of Ae-jung trying to balance work and being a mom are then shown, followed by the word tags #MovieProducer, #NoAffection, and #SingleMomof14Years.

Ha-nee proceeds with mentioning each of the four men in her mom’s life, as if deliberating which one is most fitting to be her new dad. First up is Ae-jung’s irresistible ex-boyfriend Oh Dae-oh (Son Ho-jun), a best-selling novelist with the pen name Cheon Eok-man, who gets tagged as #FamousAuthor, #KindofPathetic, and #AnnoyingbutCharming.

Second is A-list actor Ryu Jin (Song Jong-ho) who is seemingly perfect in every way but hides a different kind of appeal behind his movie-star persona. He is branded as #NationalTreasure, #PurePerfection, and #SuccessfulyetPitiful.

Next is Oh Yeon-woo (Koo Ja-sung) who is Ha-nee’s teacher and lives with Ae-jung’s family. He has an advantage as Ae-jung’s mother likes him the most. He is labeled as #HumanSunshine, #Grandma’sFavorite, and #TooYoungbutAttractive.

Lastly, Kim Min-joon enters the picture as Goo Pa-do, a “scary but sexy” former gangster who is an investor for Ae-jung’s film and is the father of Ha-nee’s best friend Goo Dong-chan (Yoon Sung-woo, When the Camellia Blooms). He gets tagged as #CEOofNineCapital, #DevotedFather, and #ScarybutSexy

Striking up some competition is actress Joo Ah-rin (Kim Da-som, He Is Psychometric), subsequently labeled as #TheAngelofAsia, #DevilinDisguise, and #LoveIsaStraightArrow. She is described as Ae-jeong’s rival in love.

The trailer closes with the wasted Ae-jung being assisted home by Dae-oh, Ryu Jin, and Pa-do as she drunkenly asks, “Am I in heaven?”
