Song Hye-kyo and Ju Ji-hoon have been offered starring roles in a new legal drama titled Hyena, their respective agencies confirmed on May 30.
Hyena tells the stories of lawyers who work for the upper class, particularly those who belong to the top 1% of the richest men in the society. It is reportedly an atypical legal drama because the law will be used as a “weapon of survival.”
Song Hye-kyo was courted to play a lawyer named Jung Geum-ja, a “true hyena” who does not hesitate to cross the boundaries between lawful and illegal activities, justice and injustice, and morality and corruption in order to succeed and survive.
The actress was last seen playing the lead in the 2018 romantic series Encounter opposite Park Bo-gum. If she accepts the offer, Hyena will be her second post-Descendants of the Sun drama.
Meanwhile, Ju Ji-hoon is in talks to portray Yoon Hee-jae, an elite lawyer who is very confident in his brilliant mind and abilities, which he uses to effectively deal with the law and cater to his VIP clients.
Hyena will premiere on KBS2 in November.
