Song Ha-yoon, U-KISS’s Jun to pair up in new drama ‘Please Don’t Meet the Man’

Rising actress Song Ha-yoon is confirmed to star opposite U-KISS member and rookie actor Lee Jun-young, also mononymously known as Jun, in the upcoming romantic comedy series Please Don’t Meet the Man (literal title).

Please Don’t Meet the Man revolves around a woman who seeks to be in a relationship with someone but does not want to get matched with all the wrong guys. To help create her ideal love life, she develops an artificial intelligence (AI) program called Cho Sang-shin.

Song Ha-yoon has signed up to play the character Seo Ji-sung, a programmer in the AI smart home appliance development team. In an unexpected turn of events, her AI program Cho Sang-shin becomes successful in identifying humans who have terrible personalities. She then uses the technology to save people who are trapped in difficult relationships.

Song made her small-screen debut in the 2003 drama Sangdoo, Let’s Go to School! Since then, she has participated in various projects such as My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol (2015–2016), Fight for My Way (2017), and the latest, MBN-Dramax’s Devilish Charm (2018).

Meanwhile, Lee Jun-young will take on the role of Jung Kook-hee, a firefighter who does not have any social media presence. He is also the only person who Cho Sang-shin is unable to analyze.

Jun debuted as a member of the boy band Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star (U-KISS) in 2014, but he only started his acting career after three years through his breakthrough role in tvN’s Avengers Social Club (2017). He furthered his experience by portraying remarkable characters in dramas such as Goodbye to Goodbye (2018), Class of Lies (2019), and the recently wrapped-up SBS series, Good Casting (2020).

Please Don’t Meet the Man is scheduled to air on MBC and MBC every1 in October of this year.
