Singer Yoo Yong-min cast in romantic comedy ‘Her Private Life’

Her Private Life added singer Yoo Yong-min to its cast.

The upcoming drama centers on Sung Deok-mi, played by Park Min-young (What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim), who lives a dual life as an art curator and an idol fangirl. It will focus on how she will juggle her career and interest, as well as how her life will change when a new director, portrayed by Kim Jae-wook (The Guest), enters the art gallery where is working.

Yoo Yong-min, according to a report on March 15, signed up for the likable role of Joo Hyuk, a part-timer at a cafe who always makes mistakes. The singer gained popularity when he joined Mnet’s Superstar K7 back in 2015 and released self-composed songs like “Nobody Knows” and “Unfamiliar.” Although he already appeared in the web drama Love Pub, his role in Her Private Life marks his acting debut in a major TV series.

The cast lineup of the upcoming series also include Ahn Bo-hyunPark Jin-joo, and ONE. Ahn (Hide and Seek) takes on the second male lead as a judo gym instructor and childhood friend of Sung Deok-mi. Park (Encounter) will be seen playing the heroine’s best friend who runs the cafe where Yoo Yong-min’s character is working part-time. One (Room No. 9), meanwhile, will play Sung Deok-mi’s idol.

Helmed by Hong Jong-chan of time-slip medical series Live Up To Your Name and award-winning drama Dear My Friends, Her Private Life will premiere on April 10 on tvN, replacing Touch Your Heart in the Wednesday-Thursday time slot.
