Shin Sung-rok, Lee Se-young, Ahn Bo-hyun, Nam Gyu-ri to headline new MBC drama ‘Kairos’

MBC’s upcoming drama Kairos has confirmed its cast featuring Shin Sung-rok, Lee Se-young, Ahn Bo-hyun, and Nam Gyu-ri.

Kairos is a fantasy romance series that centers around a father whose young daughter gets kidnapped and a woman who lives one month in the past. The two start communicating amidst a time-warp, with one living in the past and the other in the present, in a struggle to reverse the tragedies that have taken away their loved ones.

Shin Sung-rok will play the role of Kim Seo-jin, a career-driven family man who has become the youngest executive at his company. However, his life takes a downhill turn when he finds out that his daughter is abducted. This will be Shin’s next project after the action drama Vagabond (2019).

Playing the other lead character Han Ae-ri is actress Lee Se-young. Ae-ri is a woman who works hard to survive every day while saving up for the hospital operation of her sick mother. She becomes devastated upon learning that her mother has suddenly gone missing. Soon after, Kim Seo-jin contacts her from the future. Lee was recently seen in the mystery series Memorist (2020).

In addition, Ahn Bo-hyun and Nam Gyu-ri will be portraying major supporting roles in the drama. Ahn plays Seo Do-gyun, a manager at the same construction company where Kim Seo-jin works while Nam takes on the role of Kang Hyun-chae, Seo-jin’s wife. This will mark the actor’s immediate comeback after the popular drama Itaewon Class (2020) and the actress’ next appearance since the historical melodrama Different Dreams (2019).

Kairos is helmed by Park Seung-woo, director of the 2019 drama Spring Turns to Spring, and is scheduled to broadcast in the second half of 2020.
