Im Si-wan and Shin Se-kyung might team up for a new drama!
On June 4, Shin’s agency Namoo Actors confirmed media reports that the actress is in talks to star in the JTBC drama Run On and is currently reviewing the script. Previous reports revealed that Im Si-wan (Strangers From Hell) is also being courted to play the lead role. Kang Tae-oh (The Tale of Nokdu) has also been offered a role in the drama.
Run On (tentative title) is a sports-themed drama that tells the story of Ki Sun-kyum, a former track and field athlete who goes on to become a sports agent, and Oh Mi-joo, a translator for foreign films. Due to the nature of their jobs, one of them is forced to rush ahead while looking forward, while the other is caught in the past, going back to the same moment over and over again. How the two overcome this divide and fall in love forms the crux of the story.
Shin Se-kyung (Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung) has been offered the role of Oh Mi-joo, a woman who has lived a lonely existence due to losing her parents at a young age. Despite being pitied and neglected all her life, she grows up to become a successful movie translator but is unable to open her heart to love. When she meets Ki Sun-kyum, she feels emotions she has never felt before and finds her life changing.
Run On will be directed by Lee Jae-hoon, who directed The Ghost Detective (2018) and co-directed Good Manager (2017). The drama was originally slated for a November premiere but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production team may push back its first airing to December or early next year.
