Shin Min-ah courted to star in new literary-based drama ‘I Am a Nurse, a Human’

Upcoming drama I Am a Nurse, a Human has sent out an offer to award-winning actress Shin Min-ah for a starring role.

According to a source from Shin’s agency AM Entertainment, the new series is indeed among the many future projects that the actress has been proposed with.

I Am a Nurse, a Human will tell the story of a nurse assigned to a neurosurgical intensive care unit who cared for and served numerous patients in the course of 21 years and two months. The promising story line is based on a 2018 written essay of the same title by real-life nurse Kim Hyun-ah.

Shin Min-ah, who initially gained increased domestic and international popularity for her role in the SBS romantic fantasy series My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox (2010), is being tapped to portray the nurse protagonist Park Hee-ae, who, despite her sincerity in caring for her patients, suffers from the hands of a patient’s guardian, prompting her change of heart. With her incredible performances in previous television shows, including Arang and the Magistrate (2012), Oh My Venus (2015–2016), Tomorrow With You (2017), and the two-season series Chief of Staff (2019), Shin is expected to deliver another admirable depiction should she choose to accept the offered role.

Shin is also anticipated to impress television viewers in Here, her upcoming drama with renowned actors Lee Byung-hun (Mr. Sunshine) and Han Ji-min (One Spring Night). In light of the COVID-19 situation in South Korea, however, production for the project has been temporarily halted since July. Luckily, Shin Min-ah’s fans, as well as movie enthusiasts, are in for a treat this September 23 as the actress is set to grace the big screen in the sports-themed thriller film Diva.

Although more details about the new drama and Shin’s next character are still being kept under wraps, I Am a Nurse, a Human is said to be co-penned by Kim Hyun-ah, author of the original literary chronicle.
