Seohyun, Go Kyung-pyo’s ‘Private Lives’ resumes filming

Upcoming JTBC drama Private Lives, which had suspended filming due to spiking cases of COVID-19, has resumed shooting.

Private Lives is a comedy-crime show revolving around a group of con artists who deceive people by using their private information. However, when they come across a national secret, they use their conning skills to go up against a huge corporation in order to save the country. It stars Seohyun (The Time), Go Kyung-pyo (Cross), Kim Hyo-jin (Strangers 6), and Kim Young-min (The World of the Married). The drama marks Go Kyung-pyo’s comeback after his military enlistment as well as Kim Hyo-jin’s small-screen comeback after eight years.

When a staff member was found to have visited the set of a drama with a COVID-19-positive case, Private Lives stopped filming on August 20. The cast tested COVID-19-negative but went into quarantine themselves. As a result, the show’s premiere has been pushed back. According to the drama’s production team, filming has now resumed, keeping in mind the official sanitary and distancing guidelines. However, a new premiere date for the show is yet to be finalized.

Private Lives is one of the many JTBC dramas that had suspended filming due to South Korea’s worsening COVID-19 situation, along with 18 Again, More Than Friends, Run On, Live On, and All of Us Are Dead. Other networks that have taken similar measures include tvN, KBS2, SBS, and MBC, as well as Netflix-produced series currently filming in the country.

Directed by Nam Gun of Temperature of Love (2017) fame and penned by Yoo Sung-yeol, who wrote My Beautiful Bride (2015), Private Lives is set to become JTBC’s newest Wednesday-Thursday drama.
