SBS’s sports drama ‘Racket Boys’ set for release on Netflix

SBS’s Racket Boys will join Netflix’s Korean series lineup when it premieres this coming May 31.

This was announced by the drama’s production company Pan Entertainment on May 20, confirming that it has signed a contract with Netflix for the drama to stream on the global platform.

Pan Entertainment is the company behind many widely loved dramas such as Winter Sonata (2002), The Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), When the Camellia Blooms (2019), and Record of Youth (2020).

Racket Boys is a youth and sports drama about a group of young badminton rookies and their journey in the competitive sports industry. Kim Sang-kyung (Miss Lee) and Oh Na-ra (Chip In) take on the roles of team coaches, while teen stars Tang Jun-sang (Move to Heaven), Son Sang-yeon (Failing in Love), Choi Hyun-wook (Taxi Driver), Kim Kang-hoon (Mouse), Lee Jae-in (Undercover), and Lee Ji-won (The Uncanny Counter) play badminton athletes.

Racket Boys is spearheaded by Prison Playbook (2017–2018) screenwriter Jung Bo-hoon and director Jo Young-kwang of Heart Surgeons (2018).

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
