SBS’s sports drama Racket Boys is getting a special guest!
Lovestruck in the City (2020–2021) star Kim Min-seok reportedly accepted the request of producing director (PD) Jo Young-kwang to make a cameo in PD Jo’s upcoming drama Racket Boys. Kim worked with the director in the 2017 drama Defendant.
The story follows the journey of badminton rookies in the highly competitive sports industry. It stars Kim Sang-kyung (Miss Lee), Oh Na-ra (Chip In), Tang Jun-sang (Move to Heaven), Son Sang-yeon (Failing in Love), Choi Hyun-wook (Taxi Driver), Kim Kang-hoon (Mouse), Lee Jae-in (Undercover), and Lee Ji-won (The Uncanny Counter).
In the released stills, Kim looks at home in his character Hun-hoon. Hun-hoon approaches Cha Mi-kyung, who plays the tough grandmother Oh Mae. She left her village and is wandering the streets of the city, and Hun-hoon attempts to help her find her way. Kim Min-seok and Cha Mi-kyung are expected to create a heartwarming and comic scene together.
The production crew said, “We are so grateful to Kim Min-seok for accepting the special appearance request despite his busy schedule.”
Racket Boys is set to air on SBS as a Monday-Tuesday drama beginning May 31 at 10 p.m. KST. It will also be available for streaming on Netflix.
