SBS ‘Suspicious Partner’ releases official posters

Eyes here, everyone! SBS  has released two official poster of their upcoming legal romantic-comedy drama ‘Suspicious Partner’.  It stars Ji Chang-wook (The K2) and Nam Ji-hyun (Shopaholic King Louis).  Along with them are Choi Tae-joon (Missing 9) and Kwon Na-ra of Korean Pop group, Hello Venus.

In the poster above, we see each of their facial expressions that may show us a hint of the characteristics of their roles. Ji Chang-wook shows a small smile while Nam Ji-hyun has an adorable one. Choi Tae-joon sports a quirky look while Kwon Na-ra gives us the sultry feels.

The series is written by Kwon Ki-young and directed by Park Sun-ho. ‘Suspicious Partner’ takes place in the world of prosecutors and lawyers. It seems like an ordinary legal drama but here’s the catch: an amnesiac murderer is on the lose and he, whoever he is, plots to kill the lead couple. Noh Ji-wook, played by Ji Chang-wook, is a jack-of-all-trades and a good son who, despite his traumatic childhood, became a prosecutor to fulfill his father’s dream. He then meets Eun Bong-hee, played by Nam Ji-hyun, who is a prosecutor trainee and also a junior Taekwondo athlete. Together, they will solve the intriguing case of the amnesiac murderer. In addition to the main cast, Choi Tae-joon plays the role a of a lawyer who has terrible past, while Kwon Na-ra’s role is a prosecutor and the ex-girlfriend of Noh Ji-wook.

There was a difficulty in the casting for this drama, particularly on the female lead. The role of Nam Ji-Hyun was previously offered to Lee Sung-kyung (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo) and Han Ji-min (The Age of Shadows) but  both declined. The role was then offered to Ji Chang-wook’s real-life close friend, Nam Ji-hyun.

Nevertheless, the production team has really pulled off in promoting the drama through their election campaign-themed teasers that really piqued the interest of the viewers.

The cast had their script reading last April 4, 2017 at the SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyeon-dong, South Korea.

Suspicious Partner‘ will air Wednesdays and Thursdays, following Saimdang, Light’s Diary starting May 10, 2017.

Me? Just an ordinary lad with an extraordinary (says this something called 'stereotype') habit of watching Korean dramas. It started with action-filled City Hunter and the rest, as they say, is history.
