LunaThe search for the truth behind Park Cheol-gyu’s (Kim Seung-soo) death continues in the third episode of Royal Secret Agent. Sung Yi-gyum, (Kim Myung-soo), along with Hong Da-in (Kwon Na-ra) and Park Chun-sam (Lee Yi-kyung), continues to face danger in his mission. The episode recorded 5.3% and 5.2% respectively, a dip from the second episode‘s 5.5% and 5.8%.
Sa-wol’s dying wish
Sa-wol, (Kim Ju-young), the courtesan in Cheol-gyu’s report, tries to tell Yi-gyum and Da-in what happened the night Cheol-gyu disappeared. She takes both of them in the middle of the woods, but before she could say anything, an unknown assailant shoots Sa-wol in the heart with an arrow. Sa-wol pleads for them to save her unborn child, and Da-in helps her throughout the delivery. Before dying, Sa-wol tells Yi-gyum to bury her body in the exact same spot in the woods where she took them earlier. Yi-gyum finds her dying wish odd.
Hong Da-in tries to seduce Kang Jong-gil
Da-in tries to get information from the sheriff’s son by getting him drunk. However, Kang Jong-gil (Han Jae-suk) suspects Da-in of working with a royal secret agent and attacks her. Yi-gyum, who is guarding Da-in from afar, immediately comes to her rescue, and they both escape. They rendezvous back at the inn with Chun-sam.
Park Chun-sam is removed from the royal secret agent entourage
While Yi-gyum and Da-in are away, Chun-sam continues to look after the widow (Park Da-an) and her children. The sheriff, who received word that there is an agent in town, invites Chun-sam to his home to bribe him so Chun-sam would put in a good word for him to the King. Chun-sam accepts the bribe and gives it to the widow. Upon learning of Chun-sam accepting the bribe, Yi-gyum becomes enraged and removes him from his entourage.
Park Chun-sam recalls his master’s heartbreak
Chun-sam tells Da-in that in the past, Yi-gyum had a lover named Kang Soon-ae (Jo Soo-min, Penthouse), whom his stepbrother Sung Yi-beom (Lee Tae-hwan, Graceful Friends) allegedly coveted. While Yi-gyum is away for the state exam, Soon-ae gets imprisoned because of false rumors, and Yi-beom helped her escape. While being pursued by the guards, Soon-ae is hit by one of the arrows and collapses into Yi-beom’s arms, who carries her into a boat. Yi-gyum arrives and intervenes the pursuing guards to buy them time to escape. As they get away, Yi-gyum is arrested.
Sung Yi-gyum finds Cheol-gyu’s body
Remembering Sa-wol’s strange wish, Yi-gyum goes to the woods with Da-in to investigate. There, he finds Cheol-gyu’s medallion buried along with other dead bodies and weeps for his dead mentor. Jong-gil arrives at the scene with his men and arrests the two. Yi-gyum and Da-in try to fight back, but they are outnumbered and brought to Jong-gil’s hunting ground to die. As the two try to stay alive as long as possible, Chun-sam goes to the sheriff to save Yi-gyum and Da-in.
