Rowoon in talks along with Park Eun-bin to star in historical drama ‘Yeonmo’

SF9’s Rowoon and Park Eun-bin might work together in a historical-romance drama!

On January 15, reports came out that Rowoon has been offered the lead male role in the upcoming drama Yeonmo, opposite Park, who was offered the lead female role. An official from FNC Entertainment, Rowoon’s agency, confirmed this news, saying, “Rowoon is considering the proposals offered to him. [One of them is] to star KBS2’s upcoming sageuk (historical drama) Yeonmo.”

Yeonmo is about a Joseon female king who is forgotten in Korea’s history. While impersonating her dead brother, a princess gets crowned as the nation’s leader and hides her femininity under thick robes and an expressionless facade. If they accept, Rowoon and Park will play the main characters Jung Ji-woon and Lee Hwi, respectively. Lee Hwi is Joseon’s fake prince-turned-king whose fair complexion and sparkling eyes make it hard for her to hide her feminine physique. Meanwhile, Jung Ji-woon is Lee Hwi’s first love, an optimistic and free-spirited person.

Park Eun-bin last starred in the music-romance drama Do You Like Brahms? (2020), while Rowoon’s last starring role is in Extraordinary You (2019). He is currently gearing up for his upcoming series She Would Never Know, which is scheduled to premiere on January 18.

Yeonmo is adapted from a cartoon of the same name by manhwa (Korean term for comics) writer Lee So-young. The drama adaptation will be a collaboration by PD Song Hyun-wook of Another Miss Oh (2016) and Beauty Inside (2018) and writer Han Hee-jung.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
