SBS hit drama Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim posted 22.1 percent in nationwide viewership ratings for its latest episode and remains to be the most watched drama that is currently airing in Korea.
The rating of the drama’s episode 16, which was aired last night, is lower than the previous one’s 23.7% but still ranks first among the dramas airing on the same time slot. KBS’ historical drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth comes in second with 7.6% while MBC’s Night Light remains its lower audience share.
The drama series became a huge hit for SBS as it continued to obtain a higher ratings per episode for three weeks since it started and hit the highly coveted 20% with its 8th episode. The following episodes gained even higher ratings, with episode 12 reaching 23.8%.
In the recently held SBS Drama Awards 2016, Romantic Doctor emerged as the biggest winner with 8 awards given to its actors, including the Daesang (Grand Prize) for lead actor Han Seok-kyu. Actors Yoo Yeon-sook and Seo Hyun-jin, meanwhile, won an Excellence Award each.
Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim airs on Mondays and Tuesdays on SBS and still has four episodes left before the next drama Defendant takes over on January 23, 2017.
