‘Record of Youth’ welcomes Park Se-hyun as cast member

Record of Youth has welcomed a new addition to its cast, as Park Se-hyun has confirmed her appearance in the said series. She will star alongside Park Bo-gum (Encounter), Park So-dam (Cinderella and the Four Knights), and Byun Woo-seok (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency), among others.

The newest drama from tvN focuses on a group of young people in the entertainment industry as they strive to reach their dreams while pursuing love and happiness as well as experiencing despair and the other realities of life.

Ahn Gil-ho, who will be directing the series, said the drama aims to influence the youth on hard work and perseverance. The viewers may also be able to pick up other good lessons from the series, which centers on pursuing one’s dreams. “I want to be able to connect to the youth and inspire them as they grow,” the director added. “We will give the viewers a good laugh and a warm story that everyone can relate to.”

Park Se-hyun will be playing Choi Soo-bin, who dreams of becoming a renowned makeup artist. Her character, who exudes a cheerful and playful vibe, will add excitement to the drama. She said, “I’m still a newcomer, but I really appreciate director Ahn Gil-ho who gave me the role of Soo-bin. I’m glad to have the opportunity to work hard and work well with so many seniors.”

She added that while she is nervous for this upcoming project, she is equally excited as well. “I’m so excited that I am trembling, but I hope to show you a good performance as a good actress by portraying Soo-bin well and working hard,” she said. The actress last appeared in the 2019 medical series Doctor Prisoner.

Fans and viewers alike are already anticipating the premiere of the series, as Director Ahn is known for his past successful and award-winning series, such Stranger (2017) and Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019). This will also mark actress Park So-dam’s return to the small screen after four years. Her last series Cinderella and the Four Knights, where she played the lead role, ended in 2016.

Other notable actors in the cast are Ha Hee-ra (Lady Cha Dal-rae’s Lover), Shin Ae-ra (Ugly Alert), Han Jin-hee (Never Twice), Lee Chang-hoon (Black Dog), Park Soo-young (Soul Mechanic), Jung Min-sung (365: Repeat the Year), Yang So-min (The Tale of Nokdu), Lee Jae-won (VIP), Kwon Soo-hyun (Abyss), and Jo Yoo-jung (Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life).
