Record of Youth has dropped new stills featuring lead cast Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam‘s fateful first encounter.
On August 18, the new coming-of-age romance drama from tvN shared new character photos that feature Sa Hye-joon (Park Bo-gum, Encounter) and Ahn Jeong-ha (Park So-dam, Cinderella and the Four Knights) meeting for the very first time. The series will also star Byun Woo-seok (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency) in a main role. It follows three young people in the entertainment industry as they struggle to achieve their dreams.
In the first photos, Ahn Jeong-ha’s eyes sparkle with delight as she welcomes Sa Hye-joon into an empty chair, amid the busy people in the background who are preparing for the fashion show. For Jeong-ha, Hye-joon is the only relief in her tiring daily life. As both a makeup artist and someone who admires Hye-joon, she enjoys her work and “fan” moments at fashion shows where she can watch Hye-joon work the runway. In the next shots, the tension from their first meeting seems to have subsided, and the two are now shown interacting more comfortably.
The photos seem to capture what every fan dreams of: to meet one’s idol in real life and help them in their work. As the still cuts show Jeong-ha and Hye-joon share a casual conversation as they look at something on the phone, the show is already hinting the lead characters’ chemistry and the romance that will blossom between them.
The production staff is completely smitten with Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam’s chemistry and shared, “The synergy between Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam is great. They have portrayed Sa Hye-joon and Ahn Jeong-ha well. [The actors] did not miss a single gaze or gesture to perfect the scenes they are in together.”
tvN’s Record of Youth is scheduled to premiere on tvN on September 7 at 9 p.m., taking over the Monday and Tuesday time slot previously occupied by My Unfamiliar Family. Director Ahn Gil-ho from Stranger (2017) and Memories of the Alhambra (2018) and Ha Myung-hee of Doctors (2016) and Temperature of Love (2017) will be spearheading the production of the series.
