Multi-hyphenate Rain is in discussions to make his small-screen comeback in the upcoming series Ghost Doctor. A representative from his entertainment company Sublime Artist Agency confirmed the casting news and said, “The new drama Ghost Doctor is under consideration by Rain.”
Ghost Doctor is described as a television project that will combine supernatural elements and medical show basics into one series. It will reportedly be helmed by The Heirs’s (2013) Boo Sung-chul and penned by Live Up to Your Name’s (2017) Kim Eun-hee. Apart from its main makers, no further details about the drama, including Rain’s offered role, have been revealed.
Rain (born Jung Ji-hoon) is a music, film, and television artist who made his entertainment debut as a member of the boy band Fanclub in 1998. While paving his way as a musician, he tapped into a different gear and made his acting debut with a main role in the 2003 KBS2 drama Sang-doo, Let’s Go to School, which earned him multiple distinctions. It was in 2004, however, that Rain’s fame continued to rise, allowing him to make his mark in the industry as a Hallyu (Korean wave) star. During that year, he starred in the hit romantic-comedy series Full House, one of the dramas that helped propel the global popularity of South Korean television shows. He was last seen playing an ace lawyer in the fantasy series Welcome 2 Life (2019).
Ghost Doctor is slated to premiere during the second half of the year.
