‘Racket Boys’ cancels filming due to COVID-19 case on set

SBS drama Racket Boys will be taking a break from filming after one of their assistant performers tested positive for COVID-19, according to a drama official earlier today, July 19.

Racket Boys follows the journey of badminton athletes from a local high school as they navigate their way into the competitive sports industry. The drama originally aired twice a week, but due to the COVID-19 restrictions in the country and the broadcast of the Tokyo Olympics, the airing schedule changed to only once a week.

Below is a statement from the drama’s promotion company regarding the temporary cancellation of the filming:

“One of the assistant actors in Racket Boys who participated in filming on July 16 [got] tested for COVID-19 as an asymptomatic patient on July 17 and was confirmed positive on July 18.

Due to this, the filming was immediately canceled, and all actors and staff, including officials from the agency, are being tested for COVID-19.

After all the cast and staff have been confirmed to be negative, we will resume filming in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.”

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
