Pyo Ye-jin to replace April’s Naeun in upcoming SBS drama ‘Taxi Driver’

Upcoming crime-action drama Taxi Driver has found its new main cast member in rising actress Pyo Ye-jin!

Based on the webtoon “The Deluxe Taxi,” Taxi Driver features the special service of a private cab company called Rainbow Transport. Instead of transporting regular commuters, Rainbow Transport offers solutions to victims of oppression and injustice whom even the law itself could not defend. Agents carry out revenge call orders from the said clients while pretending to be ordinary taxi drivers.

Best known for her natural acting skills shown in the television dramas Fight for My Way (2017), What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (2018), and VIP (2019), Pyo Ye-jin has taken on the role of Go Eun, Rainbow Transport’s tech expert. Although she is the youngest, Go Eun plays a crucial role in the success of her team’s operations by being everyone’s eyes and ears. Her incredible hacking skills enables her to tap into all things digital—CCTVs, cell phones, and computers. She decided to venture into the business after a gruesome crime in the past took away her family.

Originally, the character Go Eun was played by April’s Naeun (Extraordinary You), but her recent entanglement in a serious bullying controversy has pushed the production crew behind Taxi Driver to remove the singer-actress from the project.

Meanwhile, Pyo’s onscreen talent is anticipated to synergize well with those of her co-stars Lee Je-hoon (Where Stars Land), Esom (Save Me 2), Kim Eui-sung (Arthdal Chronicles), Jang Hyuk-jin (Awaken), Cha Ji-yeon (Scent of a Woman), and Bae Yoo-ram (Zombie Detective).

Taxi Driver is slated to premiere on April 9 at 10 p.m. KST, after the conclusion of Penthouse 2.
