Itaewon Class (2020) star Park Seo-joon might return with a next project soon!
On May 14, an official from the drama bureau announced to the media that the actor “recently received an offer to play the role of Jang Tae-sang, the male protagonist of the drama Gyeongseong Creature (tentative title).”
Park’s agency Awesome ENT responded to this news, saying that Park Seo-joon received an offer along with a drama synopsis for a certain Project K (presumably the proposal name for Gyeongseong Creature), but he has not received the script yet. The agency also added that they are in the process of checking the actor’s schedule before they can make a decision, as Park is currently filming his upcoming movie Concrete Utopia.
Gyeongseong Creature is a survival thriller series set in the time where sovereignty and human rights are hard to achieve. The story will follow the stories of young people who constantly have to risk their lives in order to have even a little bit of happiness. Jang Tae-sang, the role reportedly offered to Park Seo-joon, is a wealthy man from Bukchon who does not care about justice and is only interested in a life free from struggles. However, his life goes downhill after meeting a woman who will change his life forever.
Gyeongseong Creature will be helmed by Jeong Dong-yoon, who directed the 56th Baeksang Best Drama awardee Hot Stove League (2019–2020), and penned by Kang Eun-kyung, who wrote the script for Dr. Romantic seasons 1 and 2 (2016–2017, 2020).
