Park Seo-joon confirmed to appear in Park Bo-gum, Park So-dam’s tvN drama ‘Record of Youth’

Viewers of Record of Youth are in for an awesome treat as sought-after actor Park Seo-joon has been confirmed to make a special appearance in the ongoing tvN drama!

After recently making headlines for its highly rated initial episodes, the series has started yet another buzz by announcing that Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) will be guesting in the set soon. However, when asked about the details of his participation, the actor requested, “Please continue watching the show to find out what the role would be.”

The exciting development is believed to have been made possible through Park Seo-joon’s close connection with the drama’s lead star Park Bo-gum (Encounter) and screenwriter Ha Myung-hee (Temperature of Love). It can also be noted that Park Bo-gum made a cameo appearance in Park Seo-joon’s similarly heartening JTBC drama Itaewon Class (2020).

Record of Youth is an inspiring romantic drama that follows the lives of three young people with dreams of making it big in the entertainment industry. In a world where the privilege of being born into a wealthy and influential family greatly affects one’s path in life, Sa Hye-joon (Park Bo-gum) and Ahn Jeong-ha (Park So-dam, Cinderella and the Four Knights) show how passion and talent can still fuel those who are not blessed with such advantage. In contrast, Won Hae-hyo (Byun Woo-seok, Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency) strives to prove that those who do have it need not frail under the shadow of their predecessors’ legacies and could instead make a name for themselves through their own capabilities.

Helmed by director Ahn Gil-ho of Memories of the Alhambra (2018) and WATCHER (2019), the series has placed second on KDramaPal’s list of the highest-rated cable drama premieres in 2020 with a nationwide TV rating of 6.362 percent. It is topped by the first episode of Stranger 2, which recorded a rating of 7.627 percent. Currently, Record of Youth is the no. 1 watched series on its Monday-Tuesday time slot after its latest episode pulled in 1.919 million viewers, translated from a nationwide rating of 7.823 percent, beating SBS’s Do You Like Brahms?.

Park Seo-joon is best known for his performances as the male protagonist in a number of popular dramas, including She Was Pretty (2015), Hwarang (2016–2017), Fight for My Way (2017), and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (2018). Currently, he is shooting for his upcoming film Dream (2021), where he is set to act opposite singer-actress IU. In addition, the actor has been confirmed as part of the lead cast in the new disaster movie Concrete Utopia (2021) along with skilled actress Park Bo-young and decorated star Lee Byung-hun.
