Park Jung-min, Lee Sung-min, Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, Lee Soo-kyung cast in upcoming movie

Upcoming drama film Miracle has confirmed its main cast—Park Jung-min (Time to Hunt), Lee Sung-min (Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP), Im Yoo-nah (Exit), and Lee Soo-kyung (Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP).

Set in the 1980s, Miracle is a fictionalized retelling of the story behind the construction of Yangwon Station—South Korea’s smallest train station located in the countryside of North Gyeongsang Province, in Bonghwa County. The film will be written and directed by Lee Jang-hoon, who also helmed the hit 2018 melodrama Be With You, starring Son Ye-jin and So Ji-sub.

Park Jung-min is set to play a high school math prodigy by the name of Jun-kyung who becomes determined to build a simple train station in his roadless village because it takes him five hours to get to school. Lee Sung-min will play Tae-yoon, Jun-kyung’s father and an engineer who is competent at his job but struggles at being a father. Lee Soo-kyung will play Jun-kyung’s older sister Bo-kyung who always unconditionally supports her brother and is unexpectedly emotionally mature.

Im Yoo-nah (Yoona), meanwhile, will play Jun-kyung’s friend Ra-hee. Ra-hee is one of the first people to recognize Jun-kyung’s genius at first sight and actively pushes him to pursue his dreams. Im Yoo-nah and Park Jung-min are expected to show warm chemistry in the movie. They will team up with the village people to build the train station.

Described as an emotional tale of simple dreams, determination, and laughter, Miracle is aiming for release in 2021.
