Park Jin-woo joins JTBC’s upcoming drama ‘Undercover’

Actor Park Jin-woo is confirmed as a cast member of upcoming series Undercover.

The new series from JTBC is based on a BBC drama of the same name and follows the story of an undercover agent working at the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who falls for a human rights lawyer during one of his missions. Now married, the agent’s identity becomes at risk of being discovered after his wife gets nominated for a position at the Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit.

The drama features Ji Jin-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) and Kim Hyun-joo (WATCHER) as lead stars and will be joined by Yeon Woo-jin (I Wanna Hear Your Song), Han Sun-hwa (Backstreet Rookie), Han Go-eun (Fluttering Warning), Heo Joon-ho (Missing: The Other Side), former 9Muses member Park Kyung-ri (Borg Mom), and more in the supporting roles.

Park Jin-woo is set to join in and play the role of Chief Ku, a homicide detective who works with the philosophy “good is good.”

The actor has made many appearances in various award-winning series, such as in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016–2017), Stranger (2017), Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019), Stove League (2019), Memorist (2020), and Find Me in Your Memory (2020). Expectations are set on the kind of performance he will show in the series, given the variety of roles he has had in the past. He said, “It is an honor to be able to work with the masters of acting in Undercover.”

Undercover is helmed by PD Song Hyun-wook (Another Miss Oh) and penned by Baek Cheol-hyun, Song Ja-hoon, and Jung Hye-eun. It is set for broadcast in the first half of next year.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
