Park Hyung-sik might be returning to the small screen soon!
After getting discharged from his military enlistment last January, ZE:A’s Park Hyung-sik (Suits) has been preparing for his drama comeback and has reportedly been reviewing offers. Earlier today, April 15, reports revealed that Park has been cast in the new tvN drama Happiness (literal title). In response, his agency United Artists Agency (UAA) shared that the actor has indeed received an offer and “is positively considering appearing in the drama.”
Happiness is set in an apocalyptic time when the world has been dominated by an infectious disease that gives people unquenchable thirst. Park Hyung-sik has been offered to play the male lead character Jung Yi-hyun, an aspiring baseball star in high school who had to quit his dream because of a knee injury and ended up becoming a detective in the violent crimes unit. The role was previously offered to Park Sung-hoon, whose last drama, Joseon Exorcist (2021), was cancelled after just two episodes due to a wave of controversies.
W – Two Worlds (2016) leading lady Han Hyo-joo has also been proposed to star in the drama as Yoon Sae-bom, a strong and action-oriented woman whose unhappy childhood and personal grudges strongly motivate her to live the rest of her life as comfortably as possible.
Stranger (2017) and Record of Youth (2020) PD Ahn Gil-ho will be spearheading the production together with writer Han Sang-woon, whom he has previously worked with in the 2019 thriller series WATCHER.
