Kakao Entertainment has confirmed that Park Ho-san and Seo Young-hee will star alongside Ong Seong-wu in the upcoming KakaoTV original series Shall We Have a Cup of Coffee?
Shall We Have a Cup of Coffee? is described as an emotional human drama that follows Kang Go-bi (Ong Seong-wu, More Than Friends), an eager rookie barista who delves into the world of coffee, and Park Seok, a master coffee crafter who takes Go-bi under his wing and teaches him everything he knows.
Transforming into Park Seok is True Beauty (2020–2021) and Hush (2020–2021) actor Park Ho-san. Seok runs Second Coffee, an all-in-one café with only three tables. While he seems cold on the outside, Seok is actually a warmhearted person who understands and accepts people better than anyone else. When Go-bi finds himself in his café, and he sees the young barista’s passion, he accepts him as his apprentice. He leads Go-bi into learning more about life, coffee, and the people who find comfort because of it.
Meanwhile, Joseon Exorcist (2021) star Seo Young-hee has signed up to play Kim Joo-hee, a music columnist and Seok’s friend-like lover. Joo-hee is not only a regular customer of Second Coffee but also an enthusiast who has just as much knowledge about coffee as Seok. It is said that one of the major points to look out for in the drama is how Joo-hee and Seok’s relationship will develop.
Shall We Have a Cup of Coffee?, also known as How About a Cup of Coffee?, will be produced as a mid-form drama with a total of 12 episodes. It will begin filming in June and will be released on KakaoTV during the second half of 2021.
