Park Hae-jin to lead new rom-com drama by ‘Mystic Pop-up Bar’ writer

Actor Park Hae-jin has chosen his first drama project for 2021!

His agency Mountain Movement announced the news, saying, “Park Hae-jin will star in the new drama From Now On, Showtime!

The new romance-comedy drama From Now On, Showtime! is an investigative story where a magician and a police officer work together with ghosts to solve a mysterious case. Park will be leading the story as Cha Cha-woong, a superstar magician with impressive skills, making him one of the most famous enchanters. His ability to do magic is also influenced by his secret power that allows him to talk to and use ghosts to his advantage. However, apart from his reputation as a magician, he is also known for his spiteful remarks and sharp tongue. He then gets caught up in an unfortunate incident, leading him to team up with a female police officer who also has occult powers. The drama will be penned by writer Ha Yoon-ah, who also wrote the script for the fantasy-comedy drama Mystic Pop-up Bar (2020).

A household name in South Korea, Park has appeared in many popular dramas in the past, such as the hit My Love From the Star (2013–2014), Doctor Stranger (2014), Cheese in the Trap (2016), and Forest (2020). His latest drama Kkondae Intern (2020) earned him his first ever Daesang (Grand Prize) from the 2020 MBC Drama Awards.

From Now On, Showtime!‘s broadcasting network as well as the airing date are still under discussion, and the production staff are still in the process of casting other actors who will complete the cast with Park Hae-jin.

The drama is slated to begin filming at the end of August.

Luna

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
