Park Hae-jin, Han Ji-eun confirmed to lead MBC’s ‘Old School Intern’

Park Hae-jin has been confirmed on February 5 to star in the upcoming MBC drama Old School Intern. Han Ji-eun, meanwhile, has also been announced as the female lead on February 7.

Old School Intern will follow a young man named Ga Yeol-chan, to be played by Park Hae-jin (Forest), who lands a great job after his college graduation. His boss is an aggressive and rigid man by the name of Lee Man-sik, who makes Yeol-chan’s life hell by forcing his old school methods on him. Under immense pressure, Yeol-chan quits the job and begins working at a company that sells ramen.

Over the years, Yeol-chan rises in ranks through hard work and eventually becomes the head of the company’s sales and marketing department—one of the most powerful positions in the company. One day, he gets a new intern quite old in age, who turns out to be none other than his old boss Lee Man-sik, to be played by Kim Eung-soo (Chief Of Staff 2). The drama will chronicle the clashes between the old and new generations of people and is expected to show both the hilarious and the heartwarming sides of the generation gap.

Meanwhile, Han Ji-eun (Be Melodramatic) has signed on to play Lee Tae-ri, an intern working under Park Hae-jin’s character in the sales and marketing team. Her character is described as someone who works hard but still goes through severe ups and downs in her professional life.

Old School Intern will be helmed by PD Nam Sung-woo, who has hit dramas like 100 Days My Prince (2018) and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (2016) to his credit. Shin So-ra, who won MBC’s Drama Screenplay Contest in 2018, has penned the script.

The drama will premiere in May on MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday time slot, replacing Kim Dong-wook’s Memoir Of The Man.
