Park Eun-bin, Kim Min-jae’s new musical drama ‘Do You Like Brahms?’ reveals premiere date

Upcoming SBS musical series Do You Like Brahms?, which will feature lead stars Park Eun-bin and Kim Min-jae, is slated to hit the small screens this summer!

Do You Like Brahms? follows the lives of brilliant students of a prestigious music school who have been diligently going through lessons, practice sessions, performances, and competitions since they were still very young, along with their parents and coaches who obsess over their development. However, as they come of age and get a taste of true love and happiness, they become torn between their dreams and the realities of life. Each of them will face difficult challenges and make significant decisions as they strive to balance out their careers and personal relationships.

Park Eun-bin has signed up for the role of Chae Song-ah, a college senior majoring in violin performance. After finishing her degree in Business at Korea’s most reputable university, she enrolls again as a music student to fulfill her passion for playing the violin. She finally gets in after four attempts and now studies with budding musical artists seven years her junior. One day, Song-ah meets a young, elite musician who is bound to influence and inspire her on her chosen path.

Debuting as a child actress, Park Eun-bin first appeared in SBS’s action drama White Nights 3.98 (1998). Since then, Park has played the younger version of various characters until finally landing her first lead role in TV Chosun’s time-travel romantic drama Operation Proposal (2012). She went on to star in popular series such as JTBC’s two-season romance drama Hello, My Twenties! (2016, 2017) and SBS’s sports-themed series Stove League (2019–2020), which was hailed as the “Best Drama” in the recently held 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae is set to transform into the renowned pianist Park Joon-young who started training at the age of six. Since then, he has won not only in local but also various international competitions, making a name for himself in the world of music. Now, at the age of 29, he decides to take a summer break and return to Korea where he comes across Chae Song-ah, an aspiring instrumentalist who will change his perceptions in life.

Though relatively new to the field, Kim has also taken part in successful dramas like SBS’s two-season medical series Dr. Romantic (2016, 2020) and JTBC’s historical romantic-comedy Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (2019).

Do You Like Brahms? will be helmed by director Jo Young-min and penned by screenwriter Ryu Bo-ri who previously worked together in the short youth series Everything and Nothing (2019). It is scheduled to premiere on August 31 at 10:00 p.m. KST as a Monday and Tuesday drama, replacing Good Casting.
