Park Bo-gum thanks his mother Ha Hee-ra in new teaser for ‘Record of Youth’

tvN’s upcoming drama Record of Youth has dropped another teaser featuring lead actor Park Bo-gum!

Record of Youth is a youth romance drama that follows the lives of three young people with dreams of making it big in the fashion industry. It stars Park Bo-gum (Encounter), Park So-dam (Cinderella and the Four Knights), and Byun Woo-seok (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency) in the main roles. In a world where the privilege of being born to wealthy and influential parents affects one’s path in life, this drama will explore how those without these privileges persist in following their dreams because of their passion.

The new 15-second teaser gives a sneak peek into the main characters’ relationships with their parents and how two different mothers support the dreams of their kids. Park Bo-gum, who plays model and aspiring actor Sa Hye-joon in the show, is shown getting scolded by his father and shedding tears. Ha Hee-ra (Lady Cha Dal-rae’s Love), who plays Park Bo-gum’s mother, consoles him by saying, “Don’t worry if it doesn’t work out, I’m there,” and feels sorry for not doing more for her son due to her poor financial situation.

By contrast, Byun Woo-seok, who plays Won Hae-hyo, is born into a comparatively wealthier and more influential family. Shin Ae-ra (Ugly Alert), who plays his mother, is seen loving and supporting his career to the extent that she even reads scripts for him and manages his fans. The teaser ends with Hye-joon acknowledging how hard it must be for his mother. He hugs her and whispers, “Thank you.”

Record of Youth is directed by Ahn Gil-ho of Stranger (2017) and Memories of the Alhambra (2018) fame, while its script has been penned by Ha Myung-hee, who wrote Doctors (2016) and Temperature of Love (2017). It is set to premiere on tvN on September 7 and will also stream on Netflix.

In the meantime, you can out the drama’s main poster here.
