Upcoming OCN thriller drama Train dropped its main promotional video featuring the very different yet interconnected dual characters of lead stars Yoon Shi-yoon and Kyung Soo-jin.
Train follows the life of Seo Do-won (Yoon Shi-yoon, Psychopath Diary), a formidable detective who works relentlessly in bringing down criminals. He makes a name for himself as the officer who gets the job done for taking on any case, especially the hard and dangerous ones. His world turns upside down, however, when the woman he loves becomes the latest victim of a serial killer. After discovering that he can cross two parallel universes and finding out that a version of his lover is still alive in another world, he sets out on a mission to track down her murderer in one world while he protects her in the other.
The suspenseful gray- and blue-toned teaser opens to a rainy and thunderous night where a mysterious hooded figure drags around a large suitcase as the ominous sound of an approaching train arises in the background. When the person gets aboard and starts making their way inside, one door unexpectedly flings open. A gun enters the frame and fires the next second. Seo Do-won is then revealed helplessly crying and clinging on to a woman who appears to have been just another target of one merciless killer.
While the train proceeds as if nothing happened, Do-won protects himself from the blinding lights, but when he opens his eyes again, he is already transported to a parallel dimension. There, he meets his counterpart who has derailed towards the path of corruption as a consequence of one decision made in the past.
The video flashes the phrase “Someone who is dead is alive; there is another [you] whom you do not know.,” as Do-won voices out a realization, “In this world…there is another me.” Then, clips of another gruesome crime scene are shown while an intense interrogation happens between Do-won and Han Seo-kyung (Kyung Soo-jin, Joseon Survival). The latter then asks angrily, “Is the one you are looking for the same the person who killed my father?”
To carry out his plans, Do-won seeks the help of his colleagues in both universes—Seo-kyung, an honest but reserved prosecutor with a huge heart in one world, and a cold, emotionless detective in the other, as well as Lee Jung-min (Shin So-yul, Big Issue), an important member of the scientific investigation unit and Do-won’s childhood friend.
Highlighting the message “One track crosses two worlds,” the three main characters will be working together to catch an elusive culprit and uncover the truth behind all unsolved cases associated to him while also trying hard to keep themselves from sparking a string of chaos between the parallel worlds.
The production team behind the drama stated, “The main promo video is intended to give a more vivid outline of Train. Please look forward to this parallel-world mystery, which the crew and actors have worked very hard to breathe life into.”
Helmed by director Ryu Seung-jin of the tvN Drama Stage: Everyone Is There (2020) and penned by screenwriter Park Ga-yeon, Train is scheduled to take over the Saturday-Sunday, 10:30 p.m. KST slot currently occupied by Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation beginning July 11.
