Oh Jung-se, who is currently starring in the fantasy romance drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, is already being courted to star in an upcoming project.
A representative from the actor’s agency, Prain TPC, shared on July 1 that “Oh Jung-se is positively reviewing the offer to star in the drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri).”
Jirisan is an upcoming drama by award-winning screenwriter Kim Eun-hee, who previously worked on the hit Netflix original zombie series Kingdom (2019, 2020) and widely acclaimed thriller Signal (2016). The series will have Jirisan, one of Korea’s most popular mountains, as its backdrop.
Oh Jung-se has been proposed the role of a park ranger in Jirisan. Previously, it was reported that Itaewon Class‘s (2020) Park Seo-joon and Kingdom 2‘s (2020) Ju Ji-hoon and Jun Ji-hyun are also in talks for the main roles. Park and Ju were offered the lead role of Kang Hyun-jo, a rookie park ranger with a secret, while Jun was tapped for the female lead role. Her character is described as someone who makes a connection with Hyun-jo and rescues victims who are stranded in the mountain.
Jirisan is to begin filming in the second half of the year and aims to premiere by early 2021. To date, other details about the series are still in the works and are awaiting confirmation.
