Oh Dae-hwan courted for upcoming historical drama

Actor Oh Dae-hwan might be seen in a sageuk (historical drama) soon!

Dana Creative ENT, Oh’s agency, confirmed media reports that the actor had been offered a role in MBC’s upcoming drama The Red Sleeve Cuff. The actor is said to be positively reviewing the script.

Based on a popular web novel of the same name, The Red Sleeve Cuff tells the story of Ui-bin Seong, a concubine of King Jeongjo, the 22nd ruler of Joseon dynasty. Lady Seong started off as a personal maid of King Jeongjo’s mother, rising on to the rank of Bin—the senior-most rank in the internal court of a Joseon dynasty royal court. Lee Se-young (Kairos) and Lee Jun-ho (Confession) are in talks to lead the drama.

Oh Dae-hwan will reportedly play Kang Tae-ho, the guard of King Jeongjo. The actor received much love and acclaim for his performances in last year’s hit film Deliver Us From Evil as well as the KBS2 weekend drama Once Again (2020).

The Red Sleeve Cuff is scheduled to air in September 2021. It will be directed by Jung Ji-in (Hold Me Tight), while the script has been penned by Jung Hae-ri (The Emperor: Owner of the Mask).
