Netflix responds to news on ‘Sweet Home 2’ production

Netflix has finally addressed rumors regarding the production of its hit Korean original series Sweet Home‘s second season.

On July 9, a representative from the streaming giant revealed their official stance on the matter, saying, “No final decision has been made yet on the formation of Sweet Home 2.”

Various Korean media outlets revealed earlier that Netflix had already started its preparations for the show’s second season. According to the reports, filming is set to begin this December with a target to release sometime in 2022. In addition, it was said that original cast members Song Kang (Nevertheless), Lee Jin-wook (Voice 3), and Lee Si-young (Liver or Die) will return in Sweet Home 2 to reprise their respective roles.

Sweet Home follows the residents of an apartment complex called Green Home as they get locked inside the building and turn into vicious monsters one by one. At the height of its run, the 10-episode series became the top streamed content across 13 countries: Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Chile, Malaysia, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
