My First First Love, also known as Because It’s My First Love, is an 8-episode coming-of-age romance series that centers on five college students as they experience first love after meeting new friends. Ji Soo (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon) plays Yoon Tae-oh, a rich and handsome business administration major who has everything but love and affection from his family while Jung Chae-yeon (Reunited Worlds) takes on the role of Han Song-yi, Yoon Tae-oh’s close friend who ends up living with him for financial reasons.

Meanwhile, Jung Jin-young (Moonlight Drawn By Clouds) portrays Seo Do-hyun, Yoon Tae-oh’s best friend and Han Song-yi’s boyfriend. Yoon Tae-oh and Han Song-yi have a strictly platonic relationship but it seems like the three will become involved in a love triangle as the drama unfolds.

My First First Love is written by Kim Min-seo of the film Little Black Dress, created by Jung Hyun-jung of Romance Is A Bonus Book, and directed by Oh Jin-seok of My Sassy Girl. It will be made available on Netflix beginning April 18, 2019.

Netflix has been ramping up its original Korean productions since 2016. Earlier this year, it released the zombie thriller Kingdom. The international community of K-drama fans will see more Korean Netflix original series (Konos) in the years to come as the streaming giant already greenlighted the production of other similar shows. Aside from My First First Love and the second season of KingdomSchool Nurse Ahn Eun-young, Me Alone And You, and Love Alarm will be released later this year or in 2020.
