Netflix original series ‘My First First Love’ announces release date

Netflix original series My First First Love, starring Ji Soo, Jung Chae-yeon, and Jung Jin-young, is all set to be released next month on the 18th.

The 8-episode coming-of-age romance series tells the story of five college students who all experience different kinds of first love after meeting new friends. Because they have no experience with love, they struggle to express their true feelings. The entirely pre-produced series began filming in September 2018.

Kim Ji-soo, who shot to popularity through the 2017 rom-com Strong Woman Do Bong-soon, will be seen playing Yoon Tae-oh, a business administration major who has everything from wealth to good looks but is lacking in love that he never got at home. Jung Chae-yeon of Reunited Worlds fame will be starring as Han Song-yi, who ends up living with Tae-oh for financial reasons. Jung is a member of the k-pop girl group DIA.

Another k-pop idol and rising actor, Jung Jin-young of B1A4 will be seen as Seo Do-hyun, Tae-oh’s best friend and Song-yi’s boyfriend. Jin-young made waves in 2016 with his role in the Park Bo-gum starrer Love In The Moonlight. The three friends will be seen juggling complex emotions as part of a potential love triangle.

Joining the main cast are Choi Ri (Come And Hug Me) who will play Oh Ga-rin, and Kang Tae-oh (That Man Oh Soo) who will take on the role of Choi Hoon. Both Ga-rin and Hoon also live at Tae-oh’s house.

The series is written by Kim Min-seo of the 2011 film Little Black Dress and created by Jung Hyun-jung of the ongoing series Romance Is A Bonus Book starring Lee Jong-suk. It will be directed by Oh Jin-seok, who helmed My Sassy Girl and Yong-pal.

As far as release dates are concerned, My First First Love is the second Korean Netflix original series, following the zombie thriller Kingdom which was made available to viewers last January.
