Netflix confirms September release for ‘The School Nurse Files’ starring Jung Yu-mi, Nam Joo-hyuk

Netflix has officially announced to premiere one of its highly anticipated Korean original dramas The School Nurse Files on September 25. Along with the exciting news, the world’s entertainment streaming giant has also unveiled eye-catching character posters of lead stars Jung Yu-mi and Nam Joo-hyuk.

The School Nurse Files follows the extraordinary tale of Ahn Eun-young (Jung Yu-mi, Live), a newly hired school nurse who has the unique ability to see jelly-like blobs of greed and undiscovered particles called “jellies” that are emitted by the living.

Growing up, Eun-young has gotten used to fighting the creepy jellies with her magically animated toy knife, BB gun, and sacred totems. However, in the school where she is currently assigned, she senses an underlying mystery taking place that is putting the students in danger. She soon crosses paths with the Classical Chinese teacher and grandson of the school founder, Hong In-pyo (Nam Joo-hyuk, The Light in Your Eyes), who accidentally opened a chamber filled with a horde of the vicious jelly creatures. As she prepares to take on the greatest challenge of her life, Eun-young discovers that In-pyo has a special energy that allows him to recharge her powers and protect her. With the help of the man who is both the cause and the cure, Eun-young wages war against the jellies to defend the school and its students.

Two freshly dropped character posters for the Netflix Korean drama feature both protagonists as they are plagued with colorful jellies of various alien-like forms. Nurse Ahn Eun-young shows a slightly annoyed expression to convey the statement, “These @#S%s jellies, why me?” She seems to be irked, having to carry all the responsibilities that come along with her supernatural gift. Appearing to her aid, however, is teacher Hong In-pyo, who puts on a determined and combat-ready face while his caption says, “What do you see, Ms. Ahn?” Describing their daily quest of exterminating creatures that are only visible to the heroine, the main tagline states, “Fight monsters. Save the school. Go to lunch.”

Netflix’s The School Nurse Files is adapted from an internationally acclaimed novel titled “School Nurse Ahn Eun-young” by award-winning author Chung Se-rang, who is also penning the script for the series. Meanwhile, Lee Kyoung-mi of the films Crush and Blush (2008) and The Truth Beneath (2016) is on to mark her first work as a drama director with the project. The six-episode fantasy series is slated to stream exclusively on the platform in over 190 countries across the globe.
